About Oxford Concert Party

A lively and highly entertaining group of six first-rate musicians.

Take three hundred years of music from around the world, turn it upside down, infuse it with humour, energy, passion and pathos - and you have the recipe with which the Oxford Concert Party, described as "one of the most entertaining, mould-breaking groups around" (Oxford Times) charms and delights our audiences wherever we go. Described as "a decidedly unstuffy bunch of superb musicians" (Daily Telegraph) we create a rich, colourful and expressive sound, and our vibrant virtuosity, and zany offbeat humour make ours an unforgettable performance.

We are a lively and highly entertaining group of six first-rate musicians with a unique repertoire which ranges from Vivaldi to Piazzolla, via Argentinian Tango, Jewish Klezmer, French café music, and music from Eastern Europe, Ireland and Scotland. Our main aim as performers is to connect with our audience, break down artificial performance barriers, and make sure that everyone has a good time!

We tour and perform nationally and also undertake extensive community concerts and workshops aiming to make music accessible to all. With passion and energy, humour and sensitivity we take our listeners on a journey which transforms, heals and humanises, especially those imprisoned by isolation, illness or walls. We deliver community music in residential homes for the elderly or sufferers with Alzheimer's, in community centres to people with special needs, in isolated village halls and to primary schools and prisons across the country.

Mission Statement

Through community concerts and workshops the music of the Oxford Concert Party ignites emotions and facilitates access to an inner world of infinite creativity.
